Privacy Policy
1. Information we collect
- Account information, including name, email address, securely protected password credentials, account type, profile information, and school or educational information you choose to provide.
- Learning information, including subjects, attempts, answers, results, practice history, progress, areas of difficulty, preferences, accessed materials, and feature interactions.
- Teacher information, technical data such as IP address, browser, device, logs, authentication and diagnostic data, and communications you send us.
2. Why we use information
We use information to create and manage accounts, authenticate users, provide learning features and materials, record activity, calculate results, save progress, send notifications, and maintain security.
We also use learning information to identify areas for further practice, improve question selection, recommendations, explanations, resources, usability, and new educational features. Aggregated, statistical, or appropriately protected data helps us understand feature use, learning-material effectiveness, technical difficulties, and platform performance.
3. Legal bases and learning analytics
Depending on the circumstances, processing is based on providing requested services, legal obligations, legitimate interests where applicable, or consent where required. You may withdraw consent as permitted by applicable law; this does not affect prior lawful processing.
Learning analytics support education, such as recommending practice when a student repeatedly struggles with a topic. We aim not to unfairly label or discriminate against students, and we will not sell a student's personal learning history to advertisers.
4. Sharing, transfers, security, and retention
We may share data with providers that support hosting, databases, storage, email, authentication, security, analytics, payments, and technical infrastructure. They are expected to handle information under applicable contractual and legal requirements. We may disclose data for law, safety, fraud, security incidents, legal claims, or with your direction or consent.
Some providers may process information outside Nigeria; we will take steps required by applicable Nigerian data-protection law. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, though no internet service is absolutely secure. We retain data only as reasonably necessary for the stated purposes, legal obligations, disputes, and security.
5. Your rights and young users
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, consent withdrawal, or lodge a complaint. You may request account deletion, which can remove access to learning history, progress, saved content, and account features.
We take young users' protection seriously. Where law requires parental or guardian authorisation, we will use appropriate measures. We do not intentionally use children's information for unrelated advertising. Parents or guardians may contact us about a child's information.
6. Cookies, updates, and contact
StudyGee may use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, sessions, security, preferences, functionality, analytics, and performance. See our Cookie Policy for more information.
